A note from the studios
I work almost entirely in soft pastel, a medium of pure pigment, laid down by hand and blended with nothing but pressure and patience. Each painting may begin on location or from life with a small study, before becoming a larger work in the studio.

About Karen
Karen Christiansen is a figurative and landscape painter based in Ipswich, working in soft pastel, oil and mixed media. She is an Accomplished Pastellist with the Pastel Society of Australia and teaches workshops in pastel technique across South East Queensland.
